| Inspired by the mysterious final days of Hank Williams' mercurial life, THE LAST RIDE is a lonely odyssey about a man leaving this world before his time. After a meteoric rise to superstardom, the greatest singer-songwriter in American history became virtually unwanted by the music industry, wrecked by drugs, alcohol, and two failed marriages. This lonely odyssey follows Williams across the bleak Appalachian countryside at the end of 1952. Somewhere on that last highway, the country music legend passed away on New Year's Day in the back of his powder blue Cadillac, carrying only his guitar and a notebook full of unfinished songs. |
