Service Associate

Service Associates are cross-trained in every area of theater operations including box office, concession stand, usher, and door position. They are the most direct representatives of our company and as such are responsible for providing outstanding customer service to our cinema guests while working in a fun fast-paced team environment.

We are looking for people who are:
- Smart, motivated and outgoing people who are passionate about the films we show
- Willing to learn and be trained to meet our cinema standards of excellence, while meeting health and food safety regulations
- Able to multitask and stay productive while demonstrating superior customer service skills

Minimum of one-year experience working in a fast-paced customer service position (cinema, hotel, restaurant, or retail industry) is a plus; however we are willing to train those candidates that prove their motivation and sincere desire to learn. Due to the nature of our business, a weekend and holiday work schedule is required. This position is for part-time work only.

Barista

Baristas are responsible for providing outstanding customer service, quality handcrafted coffee beverages and food made to order in our lobby cafe. Qualified candidates should be enthusiastic about producing excellent specialty coffee beverages while working in a fast-paced team environment.

To be considered for this position, candidates must be 18 years or older (per Virginia alcohol law) and have availability after 3pm Monday – Thursday and at least two days out of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Promotions and Events Manager

Responsibilities:

 

RENTAL EVENTS:

Rentals include birthday parties, corporate conferences, film festivals and more – so knowledge of a wide variety of event needs and comfort interacting with a wide range of personalities is crucial.

 

The successful candidate will:

·         Manage the rental event booking process, from initial inquiry to event execution, including billing.

·         Develop and update all pricing, policies and systems as appropriate for business.

·         Be highly responsive to requests for proposal, providing quotes and answers to client questions in a prompt and timely manner.

·         Maintain impeccable billing records, follow up on overdue payments, and work closely with accounting to confirm monthly cash flow.

 

ANGELIKA EVENTS:

 

Angelika Events include special screenings & events produced internally such as filmmaker Q&As, weekly trivia nights, annual Oscars party, etc.

 

The successful candidate will:

·         Work closely with operations staff to develop and grow internally-produced events to draw publicity and attendance to Angelika, as well as furthering a sense of customer community.

·         Actively request filmmaker availability from studios for Q&As (frequently performed over Skype) and secure moderators for said Q&As.

·         Effectively market internal events.

 

 

PROMOTIONS & MARKETING:

 

With support from peers in other locations, home office staff and local operations staff, the Events & Promotions Manager is ultimately responsible for all location-specific marketing of films, events, food offerings and rental availability.

 

The successful candidate will:

·         Manage digital communications, including running DC-market social media accounts, sending email blasts and growing subscriber lists, and working with the Web Services Manager to ensure web site is accurate and up-to-date.

·         Cultivate ongoing relationships with film studios.Secure film marketing materials, including posters, trailers and promotional giveaway items from studios.

·         Design location-specific graphic materials in Adobe InDesign and/or Photoshop. Order print materials from print vendor, including weekly newsletters, postcards, and special signage.

·         Occasionally serve as Angelika spokesperson for press interviews.

·         Work with film companies and publicists to perform grassroots outreach for independent films and Angelika events.

 

Job requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field. 3-5 years professional experience in marketing and/or event management with demonstrated experience in both areas.

·         Self-directed and ambitious personality, with an eye for growing Angelika’s programs and presence in the DC area.

·         Schedule flexibility for frequent early morning, evening and weekend work.

 

Compensation:  Salary DOE + regular performance bonuses. Full benefits package including health & dental insurance, retirement, and paid vacation.
