Set in early 90s Moscow, POLINA follows a gifted young ballerina from a modest background, as she joins the prestigious school of Professor Bojinsky, who trains dancers for the prestigious Bolshoi Ballet. He immediately takes notice of her tremendous potential and, at age 18, her dream comes true as she enters the Bolshoi. Once there, she meets a charming French dancer, Adrien, who helps her to discover not only love, but also a new form of dance, more contemporary and expressive, that will change her life forever. Valérie Müller's film follows Polina's incredible journey from Moscow to Aix-En-Provence and Antwerp, and from success to disillusion.
