David Wnednt's cheerfully profane adaptation of best-selling German novel WETLANDS tells the story of Helen, a bodily fluid obsessed teenager dealing with her parents divorce by breaking one social taboo after the other. When an intimate shaving accident lands her in the hospital, she schemes to reunite her parents while charming a handsome male nurse with her grotesque sex talk. Equipped with a truly believable performance by Carla Juri, this unapologetically vulgar teen angst drama is a sharply executed coming-of-age story about divorce, first love, and anal fissures.
